Minutes of Meeting 19th September 2012

 

 

Present: Rodney Vincent (RV), Penni Webb (PW), Reg Manning (RM), Elaine Adams (EA), Terry Lankester (TL), Angela Poyser (AP), Mike Fox (MF)

1. Apologies: Wendy Fox (WF),),  Estelle Lankester (EL), Shelley Garland (SG), Andy Milne, John Spencer (JS), Alison Morbey (AM)

 

2. Minutes of the last meeting and matters arising:

The minutes of the last meeting were agreed. Matters carried forward:

Letter re reservoir pond (TL)

Nest boxes (AP)

Hedge trimming (AM)

The hedges for which the council are responsible have been cut.

Mark Mehaffey was unable to attend the rescheduled meeting and it was agreed he would be invited to a meeting in the new year.

 

3. Correspondence:

A letter of resignation from Nigel Bell was received. His loss as a councillor and chairman was expressed.

 

4. Any Other Business:

WF asked if there was any news of the jubilee tree. AM to ask Barcham what sort of tree to get and where to position it. Another suggestion to celebrate the jubilee was to take the four wheel horse cart, paint it and anchor it to the village green. MF to ask Alistair Morbey .

The coffee morning was attended by the PCSO. Obviously there is shock over recent events in Greater Manchester.

It was noted that Patricia Morbey had died that morning and it was agreed that the Village Council would send a wreath on behalf of the village.

MF advised that the Social Club was not organising anything for bonfire night.

Route B has been selected for the Ely By-Pass but it is uncertain that following a public enquiry it will go ahead.

 

5. Decision and Action List:

TL to write to the council re the pond.

AP to contact council re nest boxes.

AM to investigate hedge trimming.

MF to include item in the Newsletter re the Jubilee Show on 5th October.

MF to include item in Newsletter re Church Harvest supper.

MF to include date of AGM in the Newsletter.
